Dari Evaluasi Bangunan Eksisting Menuju Rekomendasi Perkuatan: Pendampingan Redesain Struktur Gedung Az Zahra RSI Jemursari Surabaya
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Az Zahra Building at RSI Jemursari Surabaya is a two-storey reinforced-concrete building constructed in 1994. Its planned adaptation into a VIP ward on the first floor, an inpatient ward on the second floor, and a roof supporting photovoltaic panels created a need to reassess the existing structure against current loading and seismic provisions. This community-engagement program provided technical assistance to the hospital’s engineering team by translating field and document data into a structured redesign process. The intervention combined coordination with the partner, review of existing drawings and concrete-strength information, use of the 2022 soil-investigation report, load determination, structural modelling, code-based element checks, iterative strengthening design, and preparation of technical drawings. The available data indicated concrete strengths of approximately 20–25 MPa and directed the assessment toward first-floor supports, upper-floor load transfer, and the steel roof truss. The program produced an updated structural model, a map of priority strengthening locations, preliminary details for column and upper-floor strengthening, and a roof-truss support concept for the additional photovoltaic load. These outputs are meaningful because they convert dispersed technical information into a decision package that can support renovation planning and communication between the hospital and structural professionals. The recommendations remain a preliminary engineering output and require final field verification, coordinated detailing, and approval by the responsible structural engineer before construction.
