Dari Penindakan Menuju Pencegahan dan Pelayanan: Edukasi Fungsi Kepolisian bagi Pelajar SMK Negeri 3 Kota Blitar

Abstract

Vocational students often encounter legal and safety issues at school without a clear understanding of how preventive, service, and law-enforcement functions are connected. This community engagement program introduced police functions through contextual education for representatives of grades X, XI, and XII at SMK Negeri 3 Kota Blitar. The program was developed through school coordination, material adaptation, face-to-face explanation, case-oriented dialogue, and reflective discussion. The content connected early detection, professionalism in police services, criminal investigation, and students’ responsibility to seek help and report risks appropriately. Observations of the learning process showed that the dialogue moved beyond a punitive image of policing toward prevention, professional service, lawful case handling, and shared responsibility for school safety. Reflection on the activity generated an initial Student Legal Navigation framework: recognize the situation, understand the relevant function, choose an appropriate service channel, and involve a trusted adult. The framework transforms institutional information into practical guidance that is closer to students’ daily experiences. Its sustainability depends on periodic school-based legal education, contextual case exercises, and coordination among the university, school, and police stakeholders.
